Orchards is nestled in the rolling hills of
three generations. Though dwarfed by larger neighboring farms, consistent
attention to quality brings families back, some-times from hundreds of
miles, year after year to pick their own tree ripened peaches, apples and grapes. The Shafers will greet you with a friendly smile, and show you where and how to pick some of the best fruit produced anywhere in the world.
There are nearby attractions for all ages. You can visit several wineries
which are a part of the growing Lake Michigan Shore Wine Trail, here in
or Weko Beach. Blueberry Picking is available at several area farms. Check out the Hickory Creek Cow and Goat Dairy. Visit Flora Lia for Honey and charming gifts and enjoy the friendly farm animals. Pet “Snood” the famous friendly turkey.
September 12, 2014 Update……the 2014 Peach Crop is finished for the season.
The Apple and Grape crops are plentiful.
We Plan to open the Apple U-Pick on September 19th. Gala, Macintosh and Honey Crisp will be available at the shed while supplies last.
